Ian Murray is Owner and President of IMC (Ian Murray & Company Ltd). IMC has been in business since 1989 and is a Special Situation Consulting company. Ian has experience related to commercial transactions and restructurings, policy and regulatory expertise, business development and project management. Ian has had project development and project manager implementation roles for numerous natural resource projects and has led many feasibility studies and due diligence initiatives. Ian has also had part-time roles in transition management and turnaround situations, including senior management responsibilities for project, commercial, financial, and regulatory functions.
Ian graduated from The University of Alberta in 1984 where he received his Bachelor of Laws Degree. Ian graduated from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in 1986 where he received his MBA. Ian was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1986.
Ian has been involved in many community activities. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the CFL’s Edmonton Elks, is a Director and was the founding President of the North Saskatchewan River Valley Conservation Society, and is the President of the Board of Directors of Fairness Alberta. He previously served as Vice-President and Treasurer of the Environmental Law Centre and as Director of the Edmonton Screen Industries Office. Ian also coached many kids’ baseball and basketball teams over the years.
